1. Larne AC Athletes Out in Force

    On Saturday 26th January 2012, forty Larne Athletic Club members travelled to Lurgan for the prestigious Northern Ireland & Ulster Junior and Masters Cross Country Championships. In the opening event of the day, the Male Masters 8km race, Craig Hutchinson was Larne AC’s sole representative. He completed the course in 31:06 (19th place), which saw him take 2nd place in the Vet50 category.

  2. Larne AC enjoy double success at the ECOS

    Larne AC athletes have been in action this weekend, on Saturday morning seven club members participated in ‘parkrun’ events. The FREE weekly 5km time trials have fast become the cornerstone of running in Northern Ireland since their introduction just over two years ago.

    Paul Tilson travelled to the Waterworks ‘parkrun’ in Belfast, were he clocked 19:29 to finish in an excellent 10th place. Meanwhile, six others stayed a little closer to home; opting for the ECOS ‘parkrun’ in Ballymena.

  4. Ballytober ‘Mud Bath’ creates an exciting race

    On Saturday 5th January 2013 the club held their first handicap race of the year, a Cross Country affair in the Wilson family owned fields adjacent to Ballytober Road in Larne. In what could only be described as “horrendous” mud, runners were set off one at a time on the heavy 4.5 mile course. Club newcomer John Neill produced an impressive display, starting off almost half way through the pack he picked off the earlier starters and led the competitors into the final lap.

  5. Larne AC – New Year, New Trophies

    Larne Athletic Club celebrated the New Year with an impressive club victory at the annual ‘Race Over the Glens’ trail race in Glenariff Forest Park, just outside Waterfoot. The club retained the prestigious team prize, for the third year in a row! In wet and windy conditions Justin Maxwell led the team home, covering the tough 5.5m course in 39:05 (8th place). Bernard Brady followed in 40:05 (11th place), with Wayne Morrow (40:20) just behind in 12th place.
