Club members should be aware that Kieran Sharratt has decided to relinquish the responsibility for setting club training. Kieran has been performing this task for many years and gave notice at our EGM last June that he would like to pass on this duty. His wish was to hand this role on to a new coaching team, as and when this was setup, and with Sammy Drummond and Rhonda Brady both having recently received their UKA Coaching accreditations Kieran feels the time is right for this to happen.
Kieran’s training sessions have been the cornerstone for our club training over many years. His sessions were always challenging and enjoyable and for many of us provided the core around which we based our own individual weekly training programmes.
On behalf of all our members the Club would like to express a very special thankyou to Kieran for all the hard work he has put in over the years, not just in setting the sessions but for the encouragement, support and sound advice he offered on Club training nights.
As of yesterday, 1st May, Sammy and Rhonda have assumed responsibility for Club Training. Whilst they have a hard act to follow the Club is confident that they will continue to provide our members with a challenging and structured monthly programme of training sessions. Over the next few days and weeks there may be some subtle changes to our training nights as they put their own stamp on proceedings but we expect any such changes will be handled seamlessly.
