The White Bear Triathlon 2017

On Saturday 10th June 2017, 96 athletes took on the Force 12 event the White Bear Triathlon, a selection of races including an Iron man, half Iron man, and Sprint Triathlon, Situated in Ballygally the White Bear is a tough triathlon. This triathlon has challenging open water swimming conditions, a relentless cycling route and a gradually ascending run that concludes with a descent through the Sallagh Braes unveiling spectacular views and the sound of applause from a fantastic local community when the athletes cross the finish line at the White Bear.

Larne AC has four athletes taking part in this endurance race, Three in the half Iron man distance and one in the sprint distance. First home for Larne AC and winning the half iron man event was Wayne Morrow with a fantastic time of 04:52:03, Wayne was in second place out of the sea but took first position on the run. Next in the event was Stephen Montgomery with a top 10 finish and another brilliant time of 5:45:08. Alan Molloy also completed this distance in a great time of 7:07:27 in 38 position. In the sprint distance Ian McCluggage got a top 10 finish with another fantastic time of 01:28:00. Well done guys can complete respect for completing this event.
