Larne Athletic Club had 46 runners that took the opportunity to run in their home town on Saturday 9th September as 500 runners took to the streets of Larne in the 2nd year of the Larne 10K hosted by East Coast AC. This race was also part of the Larne AC handicap series. The race included both the Main Street and Promenade, giving lots of opportunities for spectators to give encouragement.
Wayne Morrow was first home for the club with a 4th place finish and Vet 35 category win with a time of 37:00 Next was James Topping in 9th place with a fantastic time of 38:32, Andy Gregg continued his good form finishing 13th in 39:07 and winning the V50 category, closely follow by Martan Keane in 14th place with a time of 39:14. In 16th place was Jordan Heron breaking the sub 40 with a time of 39:47.
The Larne AC ladies seen more Category wins with Emma McKeen finishing with a brilliant time of 45:58 and winning the Vet 35 category. Also a very strong run from Julie Allen winning the Vet 45 category with a time of 50:37.
