Race Over the Glens

On Monday January 1st 15 Larne AC athletes made the short trip to Glenariff Forest Park for the Race Over the Glens, organised by Ballymena Runners. This year the route had been changed from previous years and the total distance was just over 5 miles with a steep uphill finish. Heavy rain and high winds made for tough running conditions. Seven of the runners also competed in the challenging Christmas Cracker 2 days earlier

First home for the club in 12th place with a great time of 35:52, was Wayne Morrow. Next to finish was David Noble in 23rd place with a time of 37:18. Sean McAllister, back on club duty after his international exploits was next home in 38th place with a time of 39:39. Bryan Magee finished in 40th place with a time of 39:46. He was closely followed by Thomas Craig in 50th place with a time of 41:00. Beverley Gaston was the first female to finish for the club in 151st place and a time of 49:58

The Larne AC men also finished in 3rd place behind both Ballymena Runners teams
