Kennedy Kane Festival of Running at Dervock
17 runners from Larne AC travelled to take part in the Kennedy Kane Festival of Running at Dervock on Saturday 21st July, with 9 of them opting for the 5 miler & the remainder tackling the half marathon. The 10k 5 miler got under way at 10:45am, taking runners along undulating country roads. Brian Heron was the first Larne AC runner home in 4th position with a time of 32:37 winning the M45 age category, follow in my Sean McAllister in 5th position with a time of 33:32 and winning M55 age category. Bobby Boal was next in 12th position with a time of 34:41. First Female home for the club was Heather Baxter with a brilliant run getting a time of 39:51 and getting onto the Podium for 3rd Female. Next in was Roberta Barham with a time of 40:20 winning the F45 Category, Mandy Johnston was next with a time of 41:24 winning the F55 Category. Jayne Liddle had a strong run with a time of 44:12 follow in by Stephen McManus in 46:37. Gail Montgomery was next with a time of 49:29 winning the F50 Category.
In the half marathon which started at 11am David Noble was 1st Larne AC home in 23rd place and in a time of 1:27:00. Alan Lockington was next in with a time of 1:40:51 in 147th position, with Sammy Drummond coming in 149th with a time 01:40:58. First Female was Emma McKeen with a time of 1:46:19, next in was Bryan Heron with a time of 01:49:29. Bernie Regan was next with a time of 01:51:00. Emily Boal was next with a time of 02:09:18 and Shiree Brennan with a time of 02:20:22
