Glenarm Castle Challenge

On Saturday 13th April 27 Members of Larne AC joined 650 runners in the Glenarm Castle Challenge covering a range of distances with a Half Marathon, a 10K and 5k, with a scenic mix of forest trails, farmland and views along the Glenarm river and of course the stunning Castle dating back to 1636.
Two members ran the Half Marathon distance with Paul Tilson first home for the club in 1:43:22, followed by Jackie Wallace in 2:03:58.
Eight members took part in the 10k where Mark Todd was first home in 48:09, closely followed by Beverley Gaston as the first female for the club in 48:21. William Gray next in 49:27 and Sinead-marie Mcallister in 54:30. Followed by Diane Hawthorne 1:00:20, David Mitchell 1:01:50, Melissa Shields 1:04:16,Alison Houston in 1:14:08 and Catherine Todd 1:14:31.
For the 5k Distance we had 16 runners competing (including 6 Juniors) with Katie Allen first home for the club in an impressive 22:54 to get 12th place overall, followed by Isla Allen 26:29, Glyn Allen 26:32 and Esther McBride 26:35. Also completing sub 30mins was Emma Quinn 27:21, Martin Conway 27:40, Eva Conway 28:01. Next home for the club was Sharon Bell 32:24 and Pearl Henry 33:21, followed by Daniel and Susan Nicholson in 34:00, Linzi Conway 37:38 and Jeff Bell 40:59 and completing the LAC lineup was Gillian Craig, Senga Craig and Rhonda Wallace running together with a time of 1:03:13.
